Human Resources Advice
Offering Unique Employee Benefits
Written by Lauren Eichmann for Gaebler Ventures
If you've ever wondered how you can make your company stand apart with small business employee benefits, take a look at how online payroll service SurePayroll implements unique human resources techniques to reward employees. A great company starts with a great human resources department.
SurePayroll, an online payroll service, knows what it takes when it comes to offering employees unique benefits.
As a small business, they have implemented creative incentive and reward programs to motivate their employees to do the best possible job.
What is the best way to motivate employees? Offer something that serves as a tribute to how much you appreciate their dedication, skills and knowledge. And a free vacation trip won't hurt, either.
Although an online company, the Glenview, Ill.-based SurePayroll is still a service business run by people. It is their people who they recognize as the foundation to their business success, and reward them accordingly.
Company Pays for Trip for Employees - Wow!
After an employee's five-year anniversary with the company, SurePayroll honors them with an all-expense paid company-sponsored trip to an exotic destination, such as the Riviera Maya or Jamaica.
"Our people mean everything to us," says SurePayroll's Head of Human Resources Nancy Silver. "Without them, there is no SurePayroll. People inside the building feel how much we value them, and with this award, it makes it easier to tell the outside world."
SurePayroll prides itself on hiring energetic employees who are passionate above all else. Silver says she meets approximately 98 percent of the prospective new hires who come through their doors. "I think a strong majority walk away thinking, 'Wow, I really want to work here.' You can just tell," she says. "They witness the energy and sheer friendliness of the current employees, which provides proof of how we aim to foster an environment of respect and sense of spirit."
Just as employees get rewards for service, employers get rewards for treating employees well.
For example, SurePayroll's efforts to take good care of its employees recently resulted in the payroll outsourcing company's addition to the 2008 list of Chicago's 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work For.
