Happy Tuesday and congrats to all these funded tech companies. Here are the details on 25 new VC deals for August 2022.

From Puerto Rico to London to Estonia, we've got the latest venture capital deals from around the world. Here are twenty-five new venture capital transactions that we've recently added to our venture capital deals database.

Antegenes

Estonian health tech startup Antegenes has raised over $2.3 million in funding to continue their work on genetic testing that can detect complex diseases. Backers included Enterprise Estonia, the European Institute of Innovation and Technology and individuals Timo Rein, Peep Vain, Aare Kurist and Andreas Henn Otsmaa.

August 9, 2022 - Venture Capital Deals

Bemlo

Bemlo, a Swedish marketplace for short-term healthcare staffing, raised $3.3 million in seed funding. Y Combinator, Long Journey Ventures, Uncommon Capital and several angel investors invested.

Ben

London-based employee benefits platform Ben closed a $16 million funding round. The Series A investment was led by Atomico, with participation from Cherry Ventures, DN Capital, Seedcamp and individual investors.

Bluecopa

Bluecopa, which develops financial operations and automation tools, landed $2.3 million in seed funding in a round led by Blume Ventures, with participation from Titan Capital, T-Fund, Speciale Invest, Bharat Founders Fund, T2D3, Amplify, Force Ventures and several individual investors. The company is based near Hyderabad in India.

Clutch by Viseat Concierge

Clutch's online marketplace for content creators has attracted investor interest. The company landed a $1.2 million seed round, led by Charles Hudson at Precursor Ventures.

Galoy

Fintech startup Galoy received $4 million in venture capital in a funding round led by Hivemind Ventures. El Zonte Capital, Kingsway Capital, Trammell Venture Partners, Valor, AlphaPoint and Timechain also invested. Galoy is an open source bitcoin banking software startup.

Geopagos

Geopagos, a payments acceptance fintech startup, raised $35 million in a funding round led by Riverwood Capital. The company is based in Buenos Aires.

Infima

Infima Technologies, a mortgage security risk analysis platform, landed $5 million in seed funding. The round was led by Radical Ventures, with participation from other investors Franklin Templeton and ThirdStream Partners. Infima is based in San Mateo, California and was spun out of Stanford University.

Lami

Lami, an insuretech startup based in Kenya, has closed a $3.7 million seed funding round. The investment was led by Harlem Capital. Newtown Partners also invested, as did individuals Caribou Honig, Jay Weintraub and Peter Bruce-Clark.

Li Industries

Virginia-based Li Industries, which specializes in recycling lithium-ion batteries, closed a $7 million Series A funding round. Khosla Ventures was the lead investor, with support from Shell Ventures and Xerox Ventures.

Lumu

Lumu closed an $8 million venture capital round. The Miami-based company helps its customers detect and react to cybersecurity breaches. Panoramic Ventures led the round and was joined by KnowBe4 Ventures and SoftBank Group's SB Opportunity Fund, as well as individual investors Lane Bess and Tom Noonan.

MUSO

Puma Private Equity has made an equity investment in London-based MUSO, a piracy-monitoring platform. The company now has $3.9 million in new funding and will use the money to expand its marketing and sales functions.

Oui Therapeutics

Oui Therapeutics, an online suicide prevention therapy platform, received $26 million in growth funding from First Round Capital and CVS Health Ventures. Oui is headquartered in New Haven, Connecticut.

PayIt

PayIt, a govtech company specializing in constituent engagement announced a $90 million equity funding round led by Macquarie Capital Principal Finance. PayIt is based in Kansas City, Missouri.

Raincoat

Puerto Rico-based Raincoat, which develops disaster insurance software, closed a $4.5 million seed funding round. The investment was led by Anthemis, with participation from Divergent Capital, SoftBank, Banco Popular, 305 Ventures and Consorcio.

Suvera

UK-based Suvera, which develops and markets patient management software, raised $6 million in seed funding. The round, which is an extension of a prior raise, was led by Morningside Ventures.

Taibang Biologic Group

Taibang Biologic Group secured $300 million in growth funding. The investment round was co-led by Abu Dhabi Investment Authority and GIC. Taibang is a Chinese plasma products maker.

Tartan

Payroll and workforce management startup Tartan has landed $4.5 million in growth funding. The investment came from WorldQuant Ventures, Varanium GenNext Fund, 9Unicorns, Quant Fund, 500 Global, InfoEdge Ventures, Emphasis Ventures and Yatra Angel Network. Tartan is based in Mumbai.

Tuotuo Digital

Cross-border fintech and payment service provider Tuotuo Digital received an investment from Dewu Capital for an undisclosed amount. The company is based in Beijing, China and has customers in over 200 countries.

Velocia

Toronto-based Velocia secured $2.5 million in growth funding from WindSail Capital Group. Velocia is a mobility rewards platform that incentivizes and rewards people to commute via public transportation.

Visiox Pharma

Biopharmaceutical company Visiox Pharma landed a $7 million seed funding round and will use the funding to continue work on its ophthalmic therapeutic candidates. Founding partners led the round and was joined by other investors in the ophthalmic industry.

VoltStorage

VoltStorage, a battery technology startup based in Munich, has raised $24 million in new funding from Cummins to further develop its vanadium redox flow technology and expand adoption of the company's products in agriculture and industry.

Xona Space Systems

After raising $7.2 million last May, Xona has raised additional funding to accelerate the development of its commercial satellite navigation network. First Spark Ventures led the round, with participation from SRI Ventures, Velvet Sea Ventures, Gaingels, Lockheed Martin Ventures, Space.VC and Airstream Venture Partners. Prior investors that also joined in the round included Stellar Ventures, Seraphim Space, 1517 Fund, MaC Venture Capital, and Toyota Ventures. In total, Xona has now raised over $25 million.

Youverify

Youverify, which provides identity verification solutions to African banks, closed a $1 million seed funding round. The investment came from Orange Ventures and LoftyInc Capital.

ZSuite Tech

Fintech startup ZSuite Tech raised $11 million in Series A funding. S3 Ventures led the round with participation from JAM FINTOP and numerous other financial institutions. The funding will be used to scale the platform and expand into new markets.
