Series A Round
Definition of Series A Round
A Series A Round is a financing event in which venture capitalists invest in a company that was previously financed by founders and/or angels.
The "A" is derived from Series "A" Preferred stock, which is typically issue in a first round venture capital financing.
Before you go out and raise venture funding, be sure to be familiar with VC terminology. You don't want to be dumbfounded when the venture capitalist starts using VC funding terms.
