The Preston Lab is located at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) and is part of the Irish Centre for Vascular Biology and the School of Pharmacy and Biomolecular Sciences. We are interested in how coagulation proteases in the blood communicate with cells. We are particularly interested in the protein C pathway, whose multiple biological roles provide opportunities to engineer new therapeutic agents for haematological and inflammatory disease. In addition, we study how inflammation affects immune cell-mediated hypercoagulability in different disease cohorts.
