Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services was founded in 1920 and began operations as a small regional carrier, linking Queensland's outback communities. Within 15 years, Qantas was flying overseas -- and after the Second World War, we expanded internationally, helping Australia grow and thrive. Today the Qantas Group flies to 132 unique cities in Australia and around the world, carrying 50 million people a year on a fleet of 300 aircraft, and employing 30,000 people.
