Brolis Semiconductors UAB was established in 2011 by the Vizbaras brothers -- Augustinas, Kristijonas and Dominykas ("BROLIS" means "Brother" in Lithuanian) -- as a spin-off from the elite German Walter Schottky Institute. In 2012 the company attracted initial venture capital (VC) funding and built its state-of-the-art facility in Vilnius, Lithuania. In 2015 BROLIS attracted new investments from major solid-state manufacturers to replace the VC funding and help the company become a vertically integrated manufacturer. The buy-out of shares from the VC fund was successfully completed in 2017.
