SunPower Corp., a maker of solar cells and panels, said Wednesday it agreed to buy PowerLight Corp., a privately held provider of solar systems to governments and businesses, for about $265 million in cash and stock.
Including a "retention carve-out" of $67.5 million that vests over two to four years, the value of the deal rises to $332.5 million, consisting of about $130 million in cash and $202.5 million in stock.
