With the soaring costs of marketing your business today it is no wonder entrepreneurs are turning to more creative and less expensive ways to promote their companies.

Business networking is one of those ways to get exposure for your business without having to put a dent in your marketing budget. This form of promoting your business is extremely cost effective since it takes very little if any money at all. Here are some business networking tips you can use to promote your business and save money.

Join Chamber of Commerce

A good place to start is at your local chamber of commerce. There will be a small cost to join but the benefits are well worth it. Chamber members usually get a free listing in chamber publications. In addition they receive discounts on seminars and networking events sponsored by the chamber.

Encourage Employee Participation

Employees can help out with networking as well. Encourage them to attend networking events and seminars by offering bonuses and paid salary and meals. Make sure to get a report on how things went after the event in order to make sure this form of promotion is working out.

Volunteer

Get connected with local nonprofit organizations and volunteer. You can volunteer in the form of time spent helping them out or even donating a space for them to have activities and meetings. Nonprofit organizations will usually also provide free ad space in their publication to businesses that make small donations. Working with nonprofit organizations is a great way to spread your business name and become well known throughout your community.

Give Gifts

Provide promotional gifts to your fellow businesses and friends with your company name and logo on it. This could be in the form of mugs, t-shirts, pens, etc. Your business name will be seen over and over again long after you have made the connection.

Using business networking to save money is something you should definitely do if you haven't already taken advantage of this form of business promotion. It's a great way to get connected and create brand recognition with other businesses as well as find out what others have to offer that may be of help to your business. Generally business networking requires little if any expenses. This means it is a very cost effective way to get your company name and products or services out to the public.
