Different sites offer different features for entrepreneurs
There are many options available to small business owners who want to take advantage of free email. In a recent column for Entrepreneur magazine, Jonathan Blum tested out some of the best known sites in order to find out which ones would be best for entrepreneurs.
The first one he tried was Microsoft's Hotmail. Blum found that the service offered a "clean and easy to understand" layout and had plenty of storage space to keep all email messages. On the negative side, he finds that the ability to collaborate is minimal, unlike other services.
The next service tested was Google's Gmail. Among the most impressive aspects, according to Blum, is the newly introduced Priority Inbox. The service uses an algorithm to place the most important emails at the top of the page. On the negative side, long conversations between colleagues can be hard to manage for small companies.
In other technology news for small business, expert Chris Null recently wrote in PC World that entrepreneurs should think about providing their employees with tablet devices.
