New product will help entrepreneurs with digital storage.
In an effort to help small businesses with storage, Intel has introduced a brand new platform customized to fit its needs, a move that could be good news for entrepreneurs.
The Intel Atom processor will be available in an array of products from vendors, including Acer, Cisco, LaCie, LG Electronics, NETGEAR, QNAP, Super Micro, Synology and Thecus. The networked storage applications will allow small businesses to run their systems at a faster speed and may help them achieve more profits.
"Networked storage appliances based on the Intel Atom processor platform enable consumers and businesses to organize, manage, protect and share documents, photos, videos and music throughout the home or office," said Dinesh Rao, product line manager of Intel Storage Group.
Many products in the storage industry have been using the Atom Processor D410 single-core and the D519 dual-core, both of which can be paired with the Intel 82801 IR I/O Controller in order to power the storage units.
Intel recently sought to expand its reach into the internet marketplace by acquiring the cable modem product unit of Texas Instruments.
