Although the news for small business has been fairly negative the past few weeks, Jamillah Warner of Small Business Trends recently wrote said small businesses should still take the time to celebrate their independence, or the freedom to be able to creatively think on its feet.
The post said small businesses should take an occasional day off to have some fun and to change the flow of business.
"Ideas on how to fix what's broken and how to move forward may just come from those down moments," Warner wrote.
Warner said to start a new marketing campaign in more creative ways than bigger businesses by testing different campaigns and seeing what works. Mix it up and try something different instead of waiting for a new trend. she added.
The OneofaKindPreneur business blog said to add an "oomph factor" to small business marketing. Adding the "oomph factor" by marketing the product with other products like it, making the product seem like it's "cool," and making a "limited edition" version of a product could give it an edge.
