Nevada firms that market abroad can get subsidies for marketing expenses.
Nevada recently launched a new export initiative, called Nevada Investment & Trade Revenue Opportunities or NITRO.
"NITRO will propel Nevada into a more prosperous future," commented Lt. Governor Brian K. Krolicki. "By participating in NITRO's programs, Nevada's small companies will receive the knowledge and tools needed to conquer the global trade process. The anticipated result will be an explosion of growth in export revenues."
As part of the program, Nevada small businesses that market products overseas can apply to receive up to 50 percent reimbursement for eligible marketing expenses.
The program is funded in part by a U.S. Small Business Administration State Trade and Export Promotion Grant (STEP) grant of $239,318 awarded in September 2011. The SBA provides STEP grants to states for small business exporting assistance programs.
