Another day, another 21 venture capital transactions. Evidently, the money is still finding its way to startups with prospects.
Our ever-expanding list of August 2022 VC deals has all the latest VC transactions.
Indeed, here are twenty-one newly funded, high-potential tech ventures that we've recently recorded rounds for in our VC database.
Betr
Betr, a sports betting startup, raised a $50 million Series A round. The round was led by Aliya Capital Partners, Florida Funders and Fuel Venture Capital. Additional investors included 305 Ventures, 8VC, Anti Fund, Elizabeth Street Ventures, Elysium Venture Capital, FinSight Ventures, FJ Labs, Gaingels, Magic City Casino, Moving Capital, Palm Tree Crew, Riverside Partners, Simplebet, Stronach Group, Tampa Bay Ventures, Trog Hawley Capital and a long list of individual investors.
Black Buffalo
Chicago-based Black Buffalo closed its $30 million Series A funding round, with proceeds being used to promote their smokeless tobacco alternative products. Listen Ventures and The Pritzker Organization were the lead investors, with additional investment coming from United Tobacco Company, Vice Ventures and Watchfire Ventures.
Buzzmint
London, UK-based Buzzmint raised a seed funding round led by Ayre Ventures. The funding amount was not disclosed. Buzzmint allows brands to create tokens/NFTs of their digital assets to sell to their customers.
Datajoin
seed roundDatajoin closed its X and raised $3.5 million. Sepio Capital led the funding round. The company is based in Orem, Utah and is bringing a SaaS B2B marketing tech stack to market.
Epigenic Therapeutics
Shanghai, China-based Epigenic Therapeutics, a biotech company, closed a $20 million equity round. Investors included FountainBridge Capital, Kingray Capital, Morningside Group, TigerYeah Capital and Trinity Innovation Fund.
Equalum
Equalum, a data ingestion and transformation platform, raised $14 million in a Series C funding round. SpringTide Ventures led the round. The company is based in Sunnyvale, California.
Fuel Hub
Fuel Hub, a healthy meal delivery platform, scored $1.45 million in growth funding with the investment coming from individual investors, including Andy Bell and Fergus Lyons. The company is based in Warrington, England.
KatKin
London-based KatKin, which provides a fresh food tech platform for pet owners, scored a $22 million Series A funding round. Lead investors were Verlinvest and Perwyn, supported by Octopus Ventures and individual angel investors.
Kumospace
Kumospace, a virtual office and event hosting platform, raised $21 million in Series A investment from Lightspeed Venture Partners, Boldstart Ventures and other investors.
Longroad Energy
Boston-based Longroad Energy, a renewable energy company, secured $500 million in growth funding. Infratil and NZ Super Fund invested.
Miferia
Miferia, an online wholesale marketplace, raised $7M in a seed funding round. The round was led by Bain Capital Ventures and Tiger Global Management, with participation from Asymmetric Capital Partners, Canary and Latitude Ventures. The company is based in Mexico City, Mexico.
Mosey
Payroll compliance company Mosey bagged $18 million in Series A funding. The round was led by Canaan Partners, with participation from Charge Ventures and SemperVirens Venture Capital.
Old Street Digital
London-based Old Street Digital closed a $2.8 million seed funding round. Draper Associates led the round with support from Plassa Capital and individual investors. The company is an institutional asset management firm that is launching new crypto products.
Project Solar
Project Solar, an e-commerce startup focused on solar installations, landed $23 million in new funding. The Series A funding round was led by Left Lane Capital. The company is based in Lehi, Utah.
Ruuf
Ruuf, a solar power marketplace, landed a $1 million seed funding round led by Positive Ventures and Collaborative Fund. Other investors in the round Harvard Business School Rock Center Accelerator, Harvard Innovation Labs and individual investor Juan Carlos Jobet, Chile's Former Minister of Energy. Ruuf is based in Santiago, Chile.
Salvo Health
New York-based Salvo Health has closed its $10.5 million seed funding round. Threshold Ventures was the lead investor. Torch Capital and Felicis Ventures also backed the digital gut health venture.
Sportsbox AI
EP Golf Ventures led a seed funding round for Sportsbox AI. Based in Bellevue, Washington and specializing in 3D motion capture technology, the company raised $5.5 million from the equity investment round.
Talon Cyber Security
Secure enterprise browser venture Talon Cyber Security landed $100 million in a Series A funding round. Evolution Equity Partners led the round, with participation from Merlin Ventures, SYN Ventures, George Kurtz, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Ballistic Ventures, CrowdStrike, Team8 and Sorenson Ventures. The company is based in Israeli.
Utility Global
Houston-based Utility Global, a sustainable hydrogen company, closed its Series B funding round, raising $25 million in growth capital. Ara Partners led the round with participation from Aramco, Samsung Ventures and NOVA.
Yoodli
Madrona Venture Group and Cercano Management (formerly Vulcan Capital) led a $6 million seed funding round in Yoodli, which has created an AI platform to help people communicate better. Other investors in the round included Arch Venture Partners, Ascend Partners, Bell Labs, Intellectual Ventures, J4.Ventures and several individual investors.
Zap-Map
Zap-Map landed $10.9 million in equity funding with its recently closed Series A round. Fleetcor and Good Energy led the round. The funding will be used to continue growing the company's customer base for its EV charging app.
