Paisano's hopes to open 10 additional locations in the area by the end of 2010.
Entrepreneurs looking to get into the world of franchises may soon have a new opportunity as a Virginia-based restaurant is looking to open 10 new restaurants in the D.C. area by the end of next year.
Paisano's, a Fairfax, Virginia pizza and Italian restaurant currently has five locations after first opening its doors in 1997. But after reaching a deal with Franchise Consulting, the plan is to triple that number by the end of 2010.
While the initial plans are to expand throughout the Washington D.C. region, Fouad Qreitem, president and CEO of Paisano's said the eventual goal of the company is much larger.
"When I founded Paisano's it was our goal to transform the way people think about pizza delivery," Qreitem said. "And now with the help of Franchise Consulting we will be able to do that in the D.C. Metro area, across the nation and ultimately around the world."
Franchise Consulting has also been responsible for introducing such chains as Camille's Sidewalk Cafe, Coney Beach and FreshBerry Frozen Yogurt Café to the franchise world.
The good news for entrepreneurs is that franchises involving food seem to be a good business model. The AllBusiness AllStar Franchise List released earlier this year was dominated with food and hospitality franchises.
