Atlanta Welcomes Two New Checkers Franchises

Checkers Drive-In announced the opening of two new franchises in Atlanta earlier this week.
Checkers Drive-In Restaurants made franchising news earlier this week when it announced the opening of two new locations in downtown Atlanta. With the addition of the pair of restaurants, Checkers now has 8,000 restaurants throughout the United States.
The company is actively pursuing new franchise deals in many cities along the East Coast and in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The new restaurants are aimed at taking advantage of different audiences. The first location is in the Peachtree Center Mall and will operate in the shopping center's food court. While the other location will serve the business community in the Farlie-Poplar District of downtown Atlanta.
"This is our ninth Checkers franchise in Atlanta, and we are grateful for the opportunity to serve our loyal guests," Checkers franchisee Aziz Hashim, owner of the Fairlie-Poplar location, said. "We will continue to invest in our city and enjoy hiring from and becoming a part of the communities in which we operate."
Checkers has regained some of its national notoriety in recent years. After being left of Entrepreneur magazine's Franchise 500 list in both 2007 and 2008, Checkers was in the top 100 each of the last two years. In the 2010 list, released in early February, Checkers was No. 76.
