We asked John McKee to share his experiences opening BusinessSuccessCoach.net.

Tell me about your current business. What are you doing exactly?

BusinessSuccessCoach.net is an international career coaching practice that provides corporate clients and ambitious professionals with sound, first-hand advice, along with proven tips, tools and strategies, for fast-tracking their upward career mobility.

We are located in California but serve clients across the world.

John, tell us about your background and how you got interested in career coaching.

First of all, I am the author of "Career Wisdom - 101 Proven Strategies to Ensure Career Success" and "21 Ways Women in Management Shoot Themselves in the Foot."

More importantly, I'm a 30-year veteran of corporate boardrooms and executive suites. I provide corporate clients and ambitious professionals with sound, first-hand advice, along with proven tips, tools and strategies, for fast-tracking their upward career mobility.

I've developed a proprietary "Four Windows Process" coaching methodology. This methodology helps clients learn practical techniques to help them deal more effectively with, and ultimately capitalize on, the numerous external and internal demands, challenges and hidden opportunities faced in the work place every day.

Unlike other business success coaches, I benefit from field-tested, real world experiences rather than textbook theory, resulting in quicker payoffs for my clients. Some of my clients include individuals from large national corporations including, among others, Comcast, NBC, ESPN, Universal Studios, VERSUS, Cablevision, and an array of smaller organizations in a diversity of fields such as travel, real estate, commercial marketing, and retail.

I'm also a certified Business and Executive Coach, a member of the Worldwide Association of Business Coaches (WABC) and a member of The International Coach Federation.

What have you done that has been very effective in helping to grow the business?

Combining a publishing career and business-success related books to not only generate ancillary revenue stream, but also maximize credibility among current and prospective clients and the media alike

I also executed recurring national PR campaigns to raise media profile. I regularly appear on television and radio programs throughout North America, including ABC World News Now and The FOX News Channel as well as an array of regional TV news and radio outlets from coast to coast.

My "mini coaching" programs and published articles and blogs have and continue to benefit thousands of aspiring professionals in addition to raising awareness about my business.

That's great advice, John. Thanks so much for sharing your entrepreneurial experience with us, and good luck in growing your business.
