Teenage Entrepreneurs
Written by Brenda Stokes for Gaebler Ventures
Can teenage entrepreneurs be taken seriously? This is a good question considering there are teenage entrepreneurs who have found extreme success with their original business ideas.
Teenagers can come up with great ideas just as well, if not better than adults can, which is why there are some successful teenage entrepreneurs in the world today.
These teenagers have taken original or unique ideas and made them profitable.
These days, the most profitable and successful business endeavors for teens occur on the Internet. Even if they develop an idea that does not rely entirely on the Internet, the Internet proves a very valuable marketing mechanism to ensure the success of the business.
All-in-all, these teens realize that marketing is the key to success.
Why teen businesspeople are successful
It seems that teen businesspeople are able to cope better with striking out on their business ideas than an adult would be. This is due in part to the fact that they are not 100% reliant upon the income that their business brings in, unlike adults who are completely responsible for their livelihood and that of their families.
Teenagers also live in a technological age where anything and everything is possible. There is no limit as to what a teenager can achieve in today's high tech world. Teenagers just know how to use technology today much earlier than many young adults, allowing them to know things immediately that took time for adults to learn.
Successful Teenage Businesspeople
One successful teen business owner is Rohan Singh. Singh took advantage of the opportunities offered by the Internet and is the founder of fuzzelfish.com. The purpose of the website is to sell software products that assist Internet developers in the creation of websites.
Ben Cathers was a mere 12 years old when he launched a web advertising and marketing business with teenagers as the target audience. He later started his own nationally syndicated radio show and launched a software company in 2004 at the age of 19.
Ben Casnocha developed web-based customer service software that is now utilized by 50 government agencies around the United States and he is only 18 years old. He is amongst the many teen entrepreneurs who have used the Internet to find success.
Business ideas for teens
Other than imagination, there are some business ideas out there for the teenager who wishes to be a teenage business owner. Other than Internet businesses, there are errand services, cleaning and organizational services, yard service, social media consulting, and even blogging that teenagers can engage in.
Teen entrepreneurs can even take existing ideas and expand upon them in order to make them unique. What the world is after is unique ideas and for those ideas to be executed in order to make everyday life easier for them. If a teenager is able to achieve this, the teen entrepreneur gets the business.
So if you are an aspiring teen entrepreneur or the parent of one, don't be afraid to hold back. A teenager doesn't have to wait until adulthood to become a success. Basically, what a teenager is doing is getting a head start on life. Such a thing as early retirement is in the cards when this occurs.
