SBA introduces new features to webpage, will allow entrepreneurs to access information more quickly
The U.S. Small Business Administration made technology news for entrepreneurs after it designed a brand-new website, with more capabilities than ever before.
Among the newest features of the site is SBA Direct, which lets small business owners narrow down criteria by geography or industry, allowing them to get the most relevant information possible. The head of the SBA, Karen Mills, said that she hoped the new site would allow small business owners to work more quickly and be more productive
"Our focus was to make sure that when anyone comes here, you find what you're looking for as quickly as possible, whether that's information about SBA loans, government contracting programs, our free counselors in every state, how to partner with SBA or anything else," said Mills. "While the SBA website has traditionally been an information-rich site, we wanted to make it easier for small business owners to navigate,"
The SBA made other news for small business when it announced that it was launching both a Twitter feed and a Facebook fan page. Small business owners will be able to follow the agency on the sites and learn more about programs.
